
EXPERIENCE
Mike Russell is the founder of Russell Strategic Partners, an organization specializing in small business management, valuation for fundraising and operational accounting. Mike has assisted businesses at nearly every point in their evolution ranging from securing seed funding and growth capital to management of operations and restructuring through acquisition. Mike has extensive experience with analyzing large data sets, building financial models and working with organizations to craft their short and long-term strategic plans.
Prior to establishing Russell Strategic Partners, Mike co-founded Joseph Beare & Company where he worked with startups; worked on restructuring efforts and entered in significant public-private competitions including winning the nationwide Strong Cities, Strong Communities SC2 Economic Visioning Challenge. Mike has spent time as Chief Operating Officer for Fifth Street Gaming, most notably re-opening the Lady Luck Casino as the Downtown Grand. He also spent time in international gaming as VP of Strategic Planning for Walker Digital Table Systems. Prior to that, Mike spent nearly ten years with MGM Resorts International in various roles including Chief Financial Analyst at Treasure Island; Operations Evaluation Manager and Financial Analyst at Mirage and Director of Sustainable Operations for MGM Resorts International.
Mike has experience across many business verticals and takes pride in building financial models and projections for numerous unique business ventures. Mike likes to open every client meeting with, “Tell me the things about your business you wish you did not have to do.” It is this question that not only allows Mike to put his broad range to use but also allows his clients to focus on the aspects of their business they are good at and enjoy the most.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of MGM Resorts International’s Management Associate and Executive Leadership Programs.
